Impact Grants from the Capital Region Community Foundation fund projects that create lasting change, reach underserved groups, or bring nonprofits together. Capital purchases and construction projects are accepted, but routine operating costs are not. Nonprofits serving Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties with at least two years of local operations should consider applying.
Could a playground win this?
Possible fit Medium confidence
Playgrounds are not named, but the program accepts capital purchase and construction projects. Your playground would need to show lasting impact, reach an underserved population, or involve two or more nonprofits working together.
If you are applying for a capital purchase or construction project, include at least one bid from a contractor that comfirms the dollar amount in your project budget worksheet; and up to three photos that may help the committee to understand the scope of the project.
The Community Foundation will consider leadership gifts early in the capital campaign process to help leverage other giving.
About the match
You must match the grant dollar for dollar in cash before the Foundation releases payment. You do not need the match in hand when you apply, but you need a clear plan to raise it.
For a $10,000 grant, you would provide $10,000 of your own.
How to apply
- If this is your first Impact application, email LaToya Turner to schedule a consultation with staff.
- Submit a Preliminary Application with your revenue and expense statements, operating budget, and balance sheet.
- If the committee invites you, submit a Full Application with a project budget worksheet, letters of support, and a contractor bid for construction or capital projects.
