Capital grants for local nonprofit organizations, offered through Kern Community Foundation. Grants pay for improvements to buildings or land, equipment purchases and facility upgrades, not operating expenses. Local nonprofits planning a playground, shade or other site improvement should apply.

Could a playground win this?

Possible fit High confidence

Playgrounds are not named, but this program funds only capital projects, including improvements to land and equipment purchases. A local nonprofit's play equipment, surfacing or shade project fits that definition.

Grants will be awarded only for capital projects and not for such items as operating expenses.

For purposes of this grant, capital projects are defined as improvements to buildings or land, purchases of equipment, or upgrades to facilities.
